You were just told that you are within an Option Period. During this Option Period (OP) you are allowed to hire a Licensed Home Inspector to determine the condition of the house. The Option Period is a specified number of days set forth in a real estate contract which allows you to terminate the contract for the reasons mentioned in the contract.
